Weird things a narcissist does
Narcissism is a spectrum — ranging from having moments of self-centered behavior to full blown narcissistic personality disorder. We all have it in us in some degree. In fact, having no narcissistic tendencies at all would itself be a disorder. But because it’s a spectrum, there are some people who demonstrate more negative narcissistic traits, and some of their behaviors are described below.
I’m not a trained professional, but I have a history of experiences with narcissists, ranging from my own mother, who was diagnosed with NPD, to exes and acquaintances with varying degrees of highly narcissistic behaviors. Based on this history, and my personal experience in therapy, it’s my understanding that the more of the below behaviors a person demonstrates, the closer they may be to having a full blown personality disorder. But it doesn’t really matter, because these behaviors are toxic with or without a label. And the more of these behaviors someone is exhibiting in their relationship with you, the more damage they are likely doing. And the more likely you should remove yourself from their influence, or at the very least, create boundaries with them.
